MOULIN CASTELASAOC Vallée des Baux de Provence, AOC Provence

CastelaS, Provencal for « old castle » is also the olive grove in the Vallée des Baux de Provence that gave its name to this 45 hectares (111 acres) estate.

It is in this magical place – hundred-year-old olive groves, the Chateau des Baux and the remarkable landscape of the Alpilles hill range – that Catherine and Jean-Benoît Hugues have been able to combine technical knowledge, rigor and sensibility to produce Castelas olive oil of impeccable freshness, which expresses the green, fruity character of this exceptional terroir.

Being attentive to its olive trees is Castelas guiding principles. The groves are attended according to seasons, the need of the trees and respect for our environment. The mil is organic and the estate is under conversion for organic growing, USDA label. Castelas is open all year round for visits, tasting classes and sales at la boutique du Moulin. Concours Général Agricole Paris: winner every year since 2002.
